Lipid Profile
Price: ₹1000 ₹800
A Lipid Profile (also known as a Lipid Panel) is a comprehensive blood test that measures the amount of specific fat molecules—lipids—in your blood. In a city like Kolkata, where lifestyle-led heart ailments are on the rise, this test is the first line of defense in predicting and preventing heart attacks and strokes.
At CC Saha Medicentre, we offer a precision-driven Lipid Profile as part of our preventive health checkups to help you understand your “good” vs. “bad” cholesterol levels.
What it is

Why is it needed?
Baseline screening for heart health.
What can be detected from the test?
High levels indicate a general risk of plaque buildup.

Package Preparation and likely Test Chronology
To ensure the highest accuracy of your reports at CC Saha MediCentre, please follow these standard protocols:
1. Pre-Test Preparation
Fasting Requirement: A strict 9 to 12-hour fast is mandatory. You may drink plain water, but avoid tea, coffee, juice, or any snacks.
Diet & Alcohol: Maintain a normal diet in the days leading up to the test. Avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours before sample collection.
Medication: Continue your routine medications unless specifically advised otherwise by your physician.
2. Test Chronology
Registration: Visit the center or book a home collection.
Sample Collection: A phlebotomist will draw a small amount of blood (approx. 5ml) from a vein in your arm. The procedure takes less than 5 minutes.
Sample Handling: The blood is collected in a specialized vacuum tube (usually a Gold/Yellow top SST) and sent to our NABL-accredited lab for centrifugation and analysis.
Processing: Using automated biochemistry analyzers, we measure each lipid component with precision.
3. Additional Considerations
Recent Illness: It is best to wait at least 6 weeks after a major illness or surgery to get a lipid profile, as these can temporarily skew results.
Pregnancy: Lipid levels naturally rise during pregnancy; consult your doctor for the best time to test.
